Nurse navigators are professional nurses with cancer-specific knowledge and experience. They communicate frequently with the patient and their healthcare team and provide the patient with education and resources to support informed decision making and timely access to healthcare and psychosocial support.
Social workers are professional team members with cancer specific knowledge and experience who offer individualized assistance and resources to patients, their families and caregivers, to overcome healthcare system obstacles.
Patient navigators are non-clinical team members who connect patients to information, resources and additional support. Patient navigators often have a personal experience with cancer.
Here Be Angels (HBA) was established in 2019 in order to provide navigation services to patients diagnosed with cancer, as a standard of care.

The founding member of HBA is Rowan Robinson, a registered oncology nurse of more than 25 years’ clinical experience in both private and public health sectors in South Africa. She has developed and facilitated several courses in cancer care for nurses and created numerous informational resources for patients. Rowan has a Master of Science degree in nursing.
We are an experienced team of nurse and patient navigators who are passionate about providing a compassionate besiege of support between the patient and the healthcare system.
